About
This evergreen shrub or small tree typically grows 2-9 metres tall with smooth, grey bark. It features alternate, trifoliolate leaves and produces greenish-yellow or cream, unisexual flowers. The distinguishing ellipsoid fruits are 10-14 mm long, covered in fine hairs, giving rise to its common name.

It can be planted in full sun to partial shade, making it suitable as a specimen tree, for mixed hedges, or in ecological restoration projects, particularly in well-drained soils.
