Prioritising native trees for restoration success

IKI's 'Right Tree in the Right Place for the Right Purpose' programme is advancing landscape restoration across five African nations by prioritising native tree species. A February 2025 participatory workshop in Kenya — convening the Kenya Forestry Research Institute, Kenya Forest Service, KWS and National Museums of Kenya — validated the species-selection methodology that's shaping the next phase of work.
