About
An evergreen shrub or tree, typically growing 2 to 10 metres tall, occasionally reaching 20 metres. Native to East Africa, it thrives in dry forests, riverine thickets, woodlands, evergreen rocky bushland, and montane thickets between 850 and 2,300 metres elevation. Its wood is used for similar purposes to Vepris nobilis, and various parts have applications in traditional medicine.
Where it works in Kilifi
This evergreen shrub or tree, found in Kenyan coastal forests, is suitable for restoration plantings in dry forest or riverine thicket habitats along the Kilifi coast. It prefers locations within its natural altitude range, which includes coastal lowlands.
Growing notes
Specific cultivation details are not widely known. As an evergreen species often found in undisturbed evergreen forests, it may prefer established environments and is likely not a pioneer species.
