About
This evergreen shrub or small tree, endemic to Kenya, typically grows between 4 and 9 metres tall. It produces small, white flowers in clusters, which develop into small, dark brown seeds. The plant's wood is locally used for making tool handles, and its leaves contain compounds traditionally applied to treat ailments such as fever, headaches, and skin conditions.
Where it works in Kilifi
Due to its endemic nature and documented presence in Kilifi District, this species is ideal for local restoration efforts or as a distinctive specimen plant in a Kilifi coastal garden. It is suited for a seasonally dry tropical biome.
