About
Uvariodendron kirkii is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to southern Kenya and Tanzania, typically reaching 1.5 to 6 metres in height, occasionally up to 12 metres. It features smooth grey bark, coriaceous, shining elliptic leaves, and produces its cream-petalled flowers directly on the stems and trunk. The fruits are ellipsoid, turning dull orange when mature.
Where it works in Kilifi
Thriving in coastal evergreen forests and on coral, this species is ideal for Kilifi landscapes. It can be planted as a specimen tree or for shade in areas with full sun to partial shade.
