About

This resilient herb is characterised by its distinctive small, white-rayed flowers with bright yellow centres, often appearing daisy-like. It grows low to the ground, forming dense mats of green foliage from which its cheerful blooms emerge almost year-round.

Where it works in Kilifi

This species is highly adaptable, thriving in full sun to partial shade across various soil types, including poor, sandy conditions prevalent in Kilifi. It serves well as a fast-growing groundcover for erosion control or naturalising areas, spreading readily to form a low, green carpet.

Growing notes

Growing rapidly, it requires minimal water once established, demonstrating excellent drought tolerance and overall hardiness. Be mindful of its vigorous self-seeding and spreading habit, which can lead to it outcompeting less robust plants if not managed.
