About
This plant is a shrub or small tree native to Kenya and southern Somalia. It typically features 1-foliolate leaves with petioles measuring 4-14 mm long and leaf blades with an obtuse or rounded apex. Its inflorescence is a loose terminal corymbose raceme, bearing 1-10 flowers with pedicels up to 20 mm long and approximately 18-25 stamens. Like other members of its genus, it lacks petals, with its connate sepals rupturing transversally.
Where it works in Kilifi
Being widespread in Kenya, this species is well-suited for Kilifi-coast gardens and landscapes, thriving in full sun. Its shrub habit allows for use as a specimen, in hedges, or for restoration plantings.
