About

This unique succulent forms rosettes of stiff, cylindrical, pointed leaves that often grow in a distinctive spiral or fan-like arrangement. It produces runners (stolons) from which new plantlets emerge, giving it a characteristic 'walking' appearance.

Where it works in Kilifi

Ideal as a specimen plant in pots, rockeries, or as a low-maintenance groundcover in well-drained areas. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and is highly suited for coastal Kilifi gardens due to its drought tolerance.

Growing notes

This species is slow to moderate growing and requires very little water once established. Ensure it is planted in free-draining soil to prevent root rot, as overwatering is its main enemy.
