About
This spiny shrub, typically growing up to 2 metres tall, features leaves usually 2–5.5 cm long and often narrowly acuminate. It produces butter yellow or pale yellow flowers. The plant is found in various coastal East African habitats, including woodlands, open forests, and relict thickets, primarily on sandy soils.

Ideal for coastal gardens in Kilifi, this shrub thrives in sandy soils and can be placed in light shade to form part of a mixed native hedge or for restoration in thicket and woodland areas.
Growing notes
