About
Ritchiea capparoides is a scrambling shrub or small tree, typically reaching 2-6 metres in height, with brown, often densely lenticellate and somewhat pendulous branches. Its leaves are commonly trifoliate, featuring glabrous leaflets up to 15 cm long. The plant bears white flowers with linear-oblong petals that can be 3-6 cm long, followed by cylindric fruits measuring 5-7 cm, which are rounded at both ends and dehisce to reveal many seeds.

This adaptable species thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soils, making it suitable for a variety of garden settings. It can serve as an ornamental specimen, be incorporated into mixed borders, or used in restoration efforts along coastal woodland and forest margins.
