About
This variety is a shrub native to evergreen forests along the Kenyan coast, particularly in the Kwale District. It typically grows at elevations around 60 metres. Its leaf-blades measure 3–13 cm long and 1–3.5 cm wide, featuring 7–13 lateral nerves. The inflorescences, including their peduncle, range from 0.7–7.5 cm in length.
Where it works in Kilifi
As an understorey shrub from coastal evergreen forests, this plant is suitable for shaded or semi-shaded positions in a Kilifi-coast garden or for forest restoration projects. It thrives in conditions that mimic its natural habitat in coastal Kenya.
