About
This semisucculent subshrub is indigenous to southeastern Kenya, growing naturally in seasonally dry tropical biomes. It was formally described in the Flora of Tropical East Africa in 2009.
Where it works in Kilifi
Ideal for Kilifi-coast gardens, this plant thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil. It performs best in full sun to partial shade, making it suitable for borders or ecological restoration projects.
Growing notes
This species is a vigorous grower and propagates easily from cuttings. Once established, it is drought-tolerant but prefers consistent moisture with good drainage, and is very sensitive to cold temperatures.
