Paracephaelis trichantha is a shrub or small tree native to Southeast Kenya to Mozambique and the Western Indian Ocean. It is typically found in coastal bushland, often alongside rivers, within seasonally dry tropical biomes. Key features of the genus include sessile inflorescences and pubescent (hairy) flower parts.
Where it works in Kilifi
This species naturally occurs in the coastal bushland of Kenya, including the Kilifi region, often found near rivers at low altitudes. It would be suitable for a Kilifi-coast garden in areas mimicking its natural habitat, perhaps in a mixed native planting or restoration area with access to some moisture.
