About
This low-growing perennial herb reaches up to 30 cm in height, sprouting annually from a woody rootstock. Its leaves vary in shape and size, sometimes featuring fine hairs or shallowly toothed margins. From spring to early summer, it produces abundant spikes of frilly white to pale mauve flowers, which are attractive to 'Blues' butterflies.

Ideal for a Kilifi-coast garden, this drought-tolerant herb thrives in full sun to semi-shade and prefers light, well-drained soil. It works well as a groundcover, border plant, or in rockeries, linking lawns to shrubby areas.
