Ochna apetala

Ochna apetala is a shrub typically 1.5–3 metres tall, or an occasional tree up to 8 metres, native to southeastern Kenya and eastern Tanzania. It features oblanceolate to elliptic leaves, 6.5–14 cm long, with serrulate margins and a distinctive yellow-brown midrib. A notable characteristic is the absence of petals in its flowers; its 4-5 sepals become red when bearing the 3-5 black, subglobose drupelets (fruits).
