A small to medium-sized tree, growing up to 20 metres tall, with a rounded crown and grey-brown bark. It is distinguishable by its leathery, elliptic to obovate-elliptic leaves clustered in rosettes at the tips of shoots. The tree bears white, five-petalled flowers with a yellow centre, and edible ovoid fruits approximately 3 x 1.7 cm.
Where it works in Kilifi
Ideal for coastal Kilifi gardens and landscapes, thriving in full sun and well-drained, sandy soils. It serves well as a specimen tree, providing shade, or for restoration efforts in dry coastal woodlands.
