About
This strongly aromatic annual or short-lived perennial herb can reach up to 3 metres tall. It features square, velvety stems and ovate leaves that emit a distinct minty scent when crushed. Small, two-lipped mauve flowers with dark purple lines appear in clusters, contributing to its sweet fragrance.
Where it works in Kilifi
Ideal for full sun in disturbed areas or as a hardy restoration plant, tolerating soils with limited nutrients. Due to its vigorous and invasive nature, careful consideration of its placement and potential spread is recommended.
