About
This evergreen shrub or small tree can grow up to 9 metres tall, featuring fissured or corrugated bark and glossy, leathery leaves with distinctive raised veins. Its sweetly scented white flowers develop into ovoid fruits that ripen from green to red. Found in coastal bushlands and thickets, the plant's fruits are edible, and its roots are used in traditional medicine to treat diarrhoea.
