About
This large tree can reach up to 25 metres tall, featuring a straight trunk, narrow crown, and tan-coloured bark that peels in flakes. Its large, rounded-ovate leaves are papery and shed during the dry season. It produces small, purple-and-white flowers with downward-sloping petals and prominent white stamens, which are followed by distinctive oval, papery fruits enclosed in a bowl-shaped calyx.

Ideal for a spacious Kilifi-coast garden or restoration project, this tree thrives in full sun to partial shade. Plant as a striking specimen or for canopy shade, ensuring ample space for its significant height and spread.
