About
This erect annual herb typically grows up to 45 cm tall, branching from the base. Its oblong leaves can reach 7.5 cm long and 2.4 cm wide, often spade-shaped and covered in fine hairs on both surfaces. Flowers are borne in spike-like racemes, up to 2 cm long, with a distinct purplish-marked lower lip on its two-lipped corolla. It is native to the Indian Subcontinent and Myanmar, thriving in seasonally dry tropical biomes, including wastelands and dry deciduous forests.

This adaptable annual herb is suitable for sunny, well-drained locations in a Kilifi-coast garden.
