About
This shrub is native to Eritrea and southeastern Kenya, thriving in desert or dry shrubland biomes. It produces edible fruits, approximately 10mm in diameter.
Where it works in Kilifi
Suited for full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils, it can serve as a bird-attracting screen or hedge in a Kilifi-coast garden. Its adaptability to dry conditions makes it suitable for restoration projects.
Growing notes
This species is relatively easy to care for and adaptable to various soil types, from clay to sand. Once established, it exhibits good drought tolerance, requiring minimal supplemental water. It thrives with plenty of sunlight.
