About
Erythrococca pentagyna is a shrub native to tropical Africa, found growing in dry, open areas at elevations of up to 2000 m. It has a single, erect stem with two to three leaves. The plant produces small, white, star-shaped flowers with five petals that have a sweet scent, followed by small, black, oval-shaped seeds.
Where it works in Kilifi
This species is suitable for Kilifi-coast gardens as an ornamental plant or for hedges. It thrives in sunny, open locations, preferring well-draining soil.
Growing notes
Propagation can be achieved through seeds or cuttings, requiring a warm, humid environment and regular watering until establishment. Once established, it is adapted to dry, open conditions.
