About
Ehretia bakeri is a shrub or small tree, typically found in seasonally dry tropical biomes. It features glabrous, lenticellate branchlets and ovate-oblong leaves that are acute, subcoriaceous, and smooth on both surfaces, generally measuring 15-20 cm long by 9 cm wide. Small, many-flowered cymes appear terminally on the branchlets, followed by cone-shaped fruits that contain four separable pyrenes.

Native to Southern Somalia to Tanzania, including Kenya, this species thrives in seasonally dry tropical conditions. It is suitable for planting in full sun in well-drained soil, making it ideal for a specimen tree or for restoration efforts in a Kilifi-coast garden or landscape.
