About
Dalbergia gloveri is a liana endemic to the coastal forests of Kenya, found at elevations between 30 and 320 metres above sea level. This endangered species has been investigated for its root bark phytochemistry. Studies have revealed dihydroflavonols and isoflavans with antimicrobial properties, particularly against Staphylococcus aureus.
Where it works in Kilifi
This endemic Kenyan coastal forest liana is suitable for forest restoration projects or as a climbing specimen in larger gardens in Kilifi. It requires structural support, such as an established tree, to accommodate its large, climbing habit and thrives in a warm coastal environment.
