About
A vigorous woody climber, this species forms a dense canopy as it ascends supporting structures. Its attractive, often creamy-white to yellowish flowers are borne in axillary spikes, followed by characteristic four-winged fruits.
Where it works in Kilifi
Ideal for providing quick cover on pergolas, fences, or trellises, this robust climber thrives in full sun and well-drained soils typical of the Kilifi coast. Space at least 2-3 metres apart to allow for vigorous spread.
Growing notes
Expect rapid growth, quickly establishing itself once planted. This species is drought-tolerant once mature but benefits from occasional watering during prolonged dry spells to encourage lush foliage.
