This species is a shrub or tree, naturally occurring in southeastern and southern Kenya and Tanzania. It thrives primarily in wet tropical biomes.
Where it works in Kilifi
Given its native range along the Kenyan coast in wet tropical environments, it would perform well as an understory tree or large shrub in a Kilifi garden, preferring partial shade and consistently moist, well-drained soil.
Growing notes
Like other Coffea species, it requires consistently moist soil, high humidity, and protection from temperatures below 15°C. Ensure good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
