About
This evergreen tree can reach up to 30 metres in height, often with a smooth, grey bark that can sometimes be warty. Its distinctive leaves are elliptic to ovate, 5-17 cm long, three-veined from the base, and typically hairless with a drip tip. Small, often yellow or white, flowers develop into ovoid fruits that mature to yellow, orange, pink, or red.

Ideal for coastal gardens in Kilifi, this tree thrives in full sun and moist, well-drained soils. It serves well as a specimen tree, providing shade, windbreak, or for use in restoration plantings along coastal dunes and creek lines. It is also cyclone resistant and attracts birds and butterflies.
