About
This evergreen subshrub typically forms a spreading bush up to 1 metre high and wide, but can climb to 2 metres with support. Its glossy dark green leaves complement showy, tubular flowers, often salmon-pink to deep purple-mauve, which bloom profusely from late summer through autumn and sporadically year-round. Stems root readily where they touch the ground, enabling it to spread effectively.
Where it works in Kilifi
Ideal for a Kilifi-coast garden in full sun to partial shade, preferring well-drained, fertile soil. It excels as a fast-growing groundcover, a specimen plant, or cascading over walls, attracting local insects and birds.
