About
This evergreen woody climbing shrub can reach up to 6 metres tall, often sprawling or ascending over other vegetation using tendril-like inflorescences. It produces sweetly scented white or creamy flowers, followed by spherical, velvety, yellow or light orange fruits, 3-6 cm in diameter, containing an edible pulp likened to guavas. The plant also contains a milky latex in its stems.

Suitable for Kilifi-coast gardens, this species thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts to well-drained soils from sandy to clay. Its climbing habit makes it ideal for covering trellises, fences, or as a sprawling groundcover in tropical landscapes.
