About
Aidia abeidii is a tree native to evergreen coastal forests of eastern Tanzania and Kenya, found at elevations between 40 and 360 metres. It produces flower clusters containing 7 to 35 flowers, which feature a turbinate, black-brown hypanthium and a cupular calyx limb. Fruiting has been observed in April and September.

This species is well-suited for a Kilifi-coast garden, thriving in full sun to partial shade and requiring well-drained soil. It can serve as a specimen or shade tree, mimicking its natural coastal forest habitat.
Growing notes
Once established, this tree exhibits moderate drought tolerance, benefiting from watering every 2-3 weeks to maintain adequate moisture. Regular pruning is recommended to manage its growth and encourage flowering.
