About

Terminalia tetraptera is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 25 metres tall. It is native to southeastern Kenya and northeastern Tanzania, typically found in coastal forests, scrub, and disturbed habitats within coastal lowlands. This species is characterised by elliptic leaves up to 7 cm long, small white or cream-coloured flowers in racemes, and distinctive four-winged, subcircular fruits approximately 1.2 cm in diameter.

Being native to the coastal lowlands of southeastern Kenya and northeastern Tanzania, this tree is well-suited for gardens and landscapes in Kilifi. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and can be planted as an ornamental specimen or a shade tree.
